Enjoy this video of Sue’s amazing work

May 23, 2020 From Jeanne Doty:

“I personally only met Sue a few times but was always amazed at the clothes that she wore (which she wove).  She gave a presentation at one of our guild meetings a few years back.

Thanks to Beryl Moody’s memory, Sue graduated from Chico State and studied weaving while she was there.  Later she moved to Espanola NM and studied Chimayo weaving.  She built her own loom and did a lot of tapestry type weavings.  After Moving to Oregon for a period, she moved back to Grass Valley.  Beryl remembers her to be very political and interested in environmental causes.

I will remember Sue because she had a “get rid of all my weaving stuff sale” when I just began weaving.  I purchased a bunch of her weaving boat shuttles and they all have her initials on them.  I think about her every time I use them.

Goodbye to an amazing person and artist.”
